Neighbors Helping Neighbors

JAM was established in July of 1995 as a result of a creative partnership between local congregations and the City of Jeffersontown to address the various needs of its neighbors in the community.  The organization offers both assistance and opportunities regardless of race, age, sex, or religion.

JAM’s Outreach Program provides the following:

  • FINANCIAL CRISIS INTERVENTION AND ASSISTANCE:
JAM provides a maximum of $100 per household per 12-month period for families in crisis. These funds are used for rent, mortgage, utilities, and medications. The goal of the Outreach Program is to stabilize a crisis situation and provide resources that will enable the individual or family to become self-sufficient.

JAM also utilizes resources from other social agencies and programs as applicable, i.e., local congregations, Winterhelp, FEMA, Jefferson County’s Department of Human Services, Community Action Agency, Seven Counties, and various other human service providers.
